In- Office Procedures

I have extensive experience and training in procedures that are “wide- awake” under local anesthesia alone. Many of these were done in a hospital in the past, but now we have transitioned to doing this in the office! That means:

  • No special testing (labs, EKG, stress test, etc.)
  • No fasting (so the patient is able to eat throughout the day)
  • No changing or navigating through a hospital
  • No need for a drive. Most patients can drive to and from the clinic.
  • No anesthesiologist or IV in the arm.
  • Much cheaper for the patient
  • An easier and efficient experience.

Conditions treated are extensive, and I am constantly trying to get and more done under local anesthesia. Patients who have it done truly love it. Here are some conditions that I treat in this manner:

  • Tendinitis (Trigger finger, wrist tendinitis, etc.)
  • Mass/ Ganglion excision
  • Percutaneous Dupuytren’s release and collagenase injections
  • Tendon repair
  • Tendon transfers
  • Many finger fractures
  • Hardware/ pin removal
  • Finger contracture release
  • Joint manipulation
  • Foreign body removal
  • Carpal tunnel release
  • Hand infections
  • Skin graft/ local flaps
  • Finger amputation
